Hannah Cole is a painter living in New York. She paints fragments of the city that often go unnoticed. Her paintings are hyper-realistic, while channelling icons of American abstraction. She has a BA in Art History from Yale, and an MFA in Painting from Boston University. Ms. Cole is currently represented by the Steven Zevitas Gallery in Boston, and by Slag Gallery in New York. She has exhibited internationally and held artist fellowships at the Ucross Foundation, and the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation. She has received numerous awards for her work including Yale University’s Sudler Award for the Arts, the Boston University Dean’s Fellowship, the Esther B. Kahn Award, the St. Botolph Club Emerging Artist Award, and was a finalist for the Guasch Coranty Foundation International Painting Prize in Barcelona. Her work has been reviewed in The Boston Globe and Art in America.
